Žarko Đurović

Bibliografy

Žarko Đurović was born in 1928 in Danilovgrad, Montenegro.

He published over fifty books of poetry both for adults and children, books of prose, literary ctitics and essays, as well as chronicles on historical themes. He published over three thousand bibliographical items. Two books of selected poetry were printed by Unireks from Podgorica, one in five and the second in four volumes.

He was awarded several prestigious prizes: the Award of Thirteent July, Award for life work devoted to children, Charter Makarijevo slovo for his overall literary creation, Marko Miljanov award for the best book of the year in Montenegro, award for the best satirical book on the territory of Yugoslavia, Stara maslina award for the overall creation for children, and others. In addition, he was prized with the Charter for life achievement by the Association of writers of Serbia, as well as with the reward of the publishing house Unireks from Podgorica Pečat, also for his life achievement.

His works have been translated to several foreign languages. He is a full member of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts and a member of the Association of writers of Montenegro. He lives in Podgorica.
